Language is a powerful mean of expression of human individuality. It is known that through the language people convey not only thoughts but also feelings and emotions. Sensory basis of the language is also significant and important as its logical and rational grounds. Emotions which were transmitted through the language identify and expand diversity of the language. Language forms the emotional picture of the representatives of a certain linguistic culture world. Linguistics of emotions studies this picture, the main fragment of which is human emotions.
The graduation paper main outline is the statement that emotions are an integral and essential part of the human personality. Linguistic means of the expression of emotions play an important part of the national lexicon. They convey the national peculiarities of the language disclosing national mentality.
The relevance of this research is caused by several factors. Firstly, it is the necessity to study and analyze the lexical, semantic and grammatical mechanisms of emotional state verbalization. Secondly, the topicality of the research is related to the need to provide the translational comparative analysis of the lexical, semantic and grammatical means of emotional states verbalization used in the origin texts of Agatha Christie’s detective novels and their Russian translation.
The problem of verbal expression of emotions has received much attention in mode
domestic and foreign linguistics. The books and articles of the following mode
scientists in the field of linguistics and psychology (V. I. Shahovsky, M. B. Gamezo, B. S. Gerasimova, K. E. Izard, S. J. Gaulin, D. G Myers, N. K Dess, P. Ekman and others) constitute the theoretical basis of the study.

The purpose of the current graduation paper was to disclose the specific mechanisms of emotional state verbalization in Agatha Christie’s detective novels and analyze the match between the semantic values of emotions in the original texts and their Russian translation.
To achieve the aim, a number of objectives were raised by us in the beginning of the research. By the following stated objectives, a comprehensive study of the lexical, semantic and grammatical means of emotional states verbalization based on the material of Agatha Christie’s detective novels «And Then There Were None» and «Sparkling Cyanide» was conducted.
The following conclusions can be drawn from the present study:
1) The concepts of emotions and emotional states are widely studied by Russian and foreign researches in the field of psychology. The researchers give various definitions of these concepts, study their properties and functions.
2) Various researchers have different understandings of emotional processes and categorize them in different ways according to different criteria. Thus, the researcher Izard highlights a set of ten basic emotions while the scientist Parrot identifies over than one hundred emotions and conceptualizes them as a tree structured list.
3) The verbalization of emotions on lexical linguistic level is a complex multifaceted phenomenon, driven primarily by variety of emotional experiences, expressed through verbal means which are part of culture of any nation. Emotions are communicated through the language by such lexical means as: intensifiers, affectives, connotatives (contextual emotives), represented by different parts of speech and phraseological units.
